![]() If you want images and stylesheets to be in a subdirectory, select "Use this site subdirectory" and type in a name for that new subdirectory. To include images and other files in the upload, select the box next to "Include images and other files." You will also want to choose whether to keep those images in the same folder as your site files or in a subdirectory. Note: This directory must exist, KompoZer will not create it. If you want to publish your site to a subdirectory, rather than the document root directory, enter the name of that subdirectory (/subdirectory). In the Publish Page window, you should not need to make any changes. Now you can publish your file(s) to the server by clicking on the Publish button in the toolbar in KompoZer. For more information on why it's a good idea to use the Addon domain FTP credentials, please see our article on Working With Your Addon Domain's FTP Account. We advise to use the FTP Account created by cPanel for your Addon domain to prevent accidentally publishing to the wrong folder. Once again, be sure to replace with your actual domain name, but this time do not place before your domain name. Make sure you include the before your domain name and replace with your actual domain name. ![]() HTTP address of your homepage: Your website's URL If you have any trouble with your cPanel password, you can also reset the cPanel password in AMP as well. ![]() If you aren't sure of your cPanel username, you can find that in your Technical Details in AMP (Account Management Panel). If you're not familiar with KompoZer and want to learn more, you can find more information on this program at the KompoZer website. Judging from the smooth, bug-free way KompoZer tested for us, it's definitely aiming to play the same tune that its competitors are. This article will take you through the steps of publishing a page and/or site with the free WYSIWYG web authoring tool, KompoZer. While this is a good thing, the program lacks a certain finish, potentially making it visually unappealing to "professional" users. A Site Manager, including File tree, is anchored on the left, although it can be collapsed, and the WYSIWYG standard means that KompoZer can compete more than adequately with other, better-known editors.Ĭurrently packaged with Portable Apps, KompoZer's exposure seems to be growing. Font tweaks like Size and Style live in toolbars just below that, making for easy HTML editing. Major editing buttons live on the top three-tier toolbar, including a one-click Publishing icon as well as one-clicks for Image insertion and Table and Form creation. It does a fairly admirable job of that, while not being bloatware. An open-source Web development tool built on the NVU architecture, KompoZer aims to improve upon the NVU's bugginess. If you dislike that achy, bloated feeling that other HTML editors can give your computer, KompoZer may be the freeware cure you're looking for.
